VENTNOR – Out of town residents often complain they don’t get included in the important decisions made by local elected officials where they own shore properties. Full-time and part-time residents of Ventnor City will get the opportunity to weigh-in on the city’s plans to adopt a new Master Plan that will guide land development over the next 10 years.
The plan reviews existing planning policies, land use goals and development objectives to ensure they continue to meet the community’s current and future needs.
Residents are encouraged to review the report to learn about the planning process and the recommendations that will help guide future decisions related to development, zoning, and the preservation of Ventnor City. The plan, which is available to the public, includes demographics, economic and housing profiles, major problems and objectives, accomplishments, development regulations, zoning maps and more.
The Ventnor City Planning Board, which is charged with developing the new Master Plan goals, will hold a public hearing 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 6 at the Ventnor City Educational Complex, 400 N. Lafayette Ave.
The purpose of the public hearing is for the board to hear commentary before adopting the plan, which will become an amendment to the existing Master Plan. The re-examination report was prepared by planning consultant Rutala Associates of Linwood.
Formal action to adopt the 2026 Master Plan Reexamination Report of the City of Ventnor may be taken at the conclusion of the public hearing.
