VENTNOR – The city wants the public to be aware of a new scam being perpetrated through fraudulent emails that appear to come from the Ventnor City Planning Board.

The emails request payment for application review or approval fees and may include city logos, project information or references to Planning Board applications.

The city is not sending the emails and would never request payment through an unsolicited email, the advisory posted on the city’s Facebook page states.

Official correspondence from the city would have an @ventnorcity.org email address.

The city advises the public to avoid sending payments in response to these unsolicitedl email requests. Do not respond. Instead contact the appropriate city department directly using contact information found only on the city’s official website, http://ventnorcity.org.

For official information, call Ventnor City Hall at 609-823-7900.
