VENTNOR – The Board of Commissioners Thursday approved four key promotions for the Ventnor Beach Patrol.

Commissioner Lance Landgraf pinch-hit for Mayor Tim Kriebel, who chairs Public Safety, for the swearing-in ceremony attended by numerous members of the Beach Patrol along with Chief David Funk and former Chief Stan Bergman. Kriebel attended the meeting via the Zoom platform.

Meghan Holland Robinson was first-up taking the oath of office to serve as captain of the Beach Patrol. Daniel Schall was promoted to the rank of senior lieutenant, and Vincent Mahoney and Padraic “Pat” Milligan were promoted to the rank of lieutenant.

“We love our lifeguards,” Landgraf said following the ceremony, noting that as they move up in rank, they have big shoes to fill when taking over from “legends.”

“We appreciate what they do keeping us safe all summer long,” Landgraf said.

The Ventnor Beach Patrol enjoys a full contingent of senior lifeguards who keep a watchful eye over the beach and provide training for upcoming guards. Robinson has been organizing the city’s Junior Lifeguard Program for many years.
